Paul E Bern

Paul E. Bern, 87, of Coshocton passed away at Signature Health Care of Coshocton on Thursday February 16, 2017.

Paul was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 1, 1929 to the late Christian W. and Laverne E. (Hill) Bern.

He graduated from Iowa State with a Bachelors Degree and served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  Paul retired from General Electric in Coshocton in 1989 after 33 years of service where he held several different management positions.  He was active at the Grace United Methodist Church where he was a past Treasurer and served on the Finance Committee.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of sixty three years Nona D. Bern whom he married November 25, 1953; one daughter Cathy Jennings of Columbus; four grandchildren Kelly A. (Daniel) Williams, Kevin R. Beisel, Matthew P. Beisel and Sara M. Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia K. Johnson; infant grandson Christopher S. Jennings; brother John Bern and a sister Patricia Magalski.

Friends may call at the Grace United Methodist Church, 422 Walnut St., Coshocton  on Tuesday February 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Keith Peachey officiating.  Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens after the funeral luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
