Mildred Louise Rehard

June 29, 1934 ~ September 13, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old

MILDRED LOUISE REHARD, youngest daughter of eleven children born to William and Cora Doublin Dickinson, was born on June 29, 1934, near Lebanon, Missouri and departed this life peacefully on September 13, 2016, in San Diego, California at the age of eighty-two years, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Filled with compassion and interest in others, Louise made friends easily and maintained contact with many. She was an active volunteer, most notably for the San Diego Madres, whose mission is to provide all children of San Diego County the opportunity to play baseball and softball. Her passion for the San Diego Padres led her to join the Madres to assist with fundraising efforts by donating time, crafts, and participating on the board. In addition to her work with the Madres, Louise volunteered with the National Charity League and served many years on the PTA, even serving as President.

Some of her earlier career pursuits had her working as a swimsuit model for Elon of California, a roller skating car hop, a dental assistant, a real estate agent, and finally her most treasured role as full-time wife and mother.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Lawrence Cole, four brothers, Luther, Leslie, Charley and Johnny, and four sisters, Marjorie Phife, Gladys Moore, Edith Basnett, and Edna Sumner.

She leaves to mourn her passing, husband Harold Dean Rehard, daughter, Kandi Kay Rehard; two brothers, Walter and his wife Marian Dickinson of San Diego, California and Don Dickinson of South Bend, Indiana; grandchild John E. Cole; great-grandchildren Isabella and John Cole; numerous relatives, i.e., close nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws. In addition, she will be missed by her San Diego Madres family and many friends across the country and internationally.

How fondly she will be remembered; our angel that lived, laughed, and loved. Louise is and was a cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and loyal friend. Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the San Diego Madres.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 in San Diego, California. Interment will be at Fairfield Cemetery on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in West Lafayette, Ohio.
