Billiejo and family,
I just heard that your Mother passes away. She was beautiful inside and out. Her faith never wavered and her generous spirit set a high standard for her family to follow. I know you are always going to miss her love, but you know she has found the peace beyond understanding.
You are in my prayers.
Linda

Linda was my Hospice patient. I loved her, and told her so every time I left her.

She wanted me to read a chapter of Max Lucado's book, "He Still Moves Stones" to her each time we visited.

In her room were things that I gave her, which pleased me that she accepted them: Mum's clothing protectors (bibs) with pictures of cats, and Mum's stuffed cat/hand puppet, plus a little butterfly inside a box.

We had a special relationship. Sometimes I sang to her. Other times, I removed her dead flowers.

She told me about shooting squirrels with a shotgun, to keep them away from something, I don't remember what.

She gave me two books that her daughter-in-law had written. She insisted on buying my husband Glenn's new book, "Big Bands & Orchestras of Coshocton."

Linda usually asked me to rub her legs with that coconut lotion from a jar.

A couple times I got her chicken noodle soup from Bob Evans. It pleased me that she liked it.

One time, she told me to cut/chop up spaghetti which I was trying to feed her in long noodles. Duh!

I was just getting ready to write to her a "Thinking of You" card because her dear friend, co-worker at Marilyn's Natural Foods, and faithful visitor had just died, when Cathy Hudson called to say she had died. . Now they are together.

I think that Linda had a lot of heartache in her life, but she usually kept it inside.

She told me about her neighbor John Gray, his illness, and his death. She was close to them.

The last times I visited her, it was increasingly hard to understand what she was trying to say. Finally, when I got it, she would smile in victory: Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard, or something like that.

Because she knew about our camp on a quiet pond in Maine, I am picturing her being here with me at this beautiful, peaceful place.

Thank you, God, and Hospice, for letting me meet Linda. My life was blessed by knowing her.
