Matt Miller

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Matt is a 1993 graduate of Tri-Valley High School in Dresden, 1995 graduate from Ohio University in Zanesville and received his Bachelors in Mortuary Science in 1996 from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science . He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 23 years including 5 years at another funeral home in Coshocton. Matt, his wife Valerie, and their three children Andrew (Emilee) Miller of Frazeysburg, Madison and Grace of the home, they have lived in Coshocton since 2004.

Darcie Kaser Moore

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Darcie is a 2008 graduate of River View High School, she returned to the community after graduating in December 2013 from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with a bachelor's degree in mortuary science. Darcie is an Ohio licensed funeral director and embalmer.

Darcie is also the co-owner of Miller-Kaser Cremation Services located at 845 Cedar St. where she is a Ohio Certified Crematory Operator.

She is married to Zack Moore, and together they have a daughter, Kollie. Darcie is the daughter of Tad and Stacey Kaser of Warsaw and Brenda and Larry Freetage of Coshocton.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, and riding their side by side.

Todd Jackson

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Todd is a graduate of Coshocton High and joined the Ohio State Patrol in 1990. He retired in March of 2018 after serving 28 years as an Ohio State Trooper.

Todd has been a life-long resident of Coshocton County where he continues to reside with his wife, Jennifer.

He has four children, Madison, Gavin, Cadence, and Emerson, and two step-children Madelyn and Remington.

In his spare time, Todd enjoys weightlifting, outdoor activities, including golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Ginger Wortman

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Ginger is a 1992 Tri-Valley High School graduate. She has earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science (Nursing) in 1995 and a Bachelors Degree in Technical Applied Science in 2011 from Ohio University-Zanesville. In July of 1999, she left the nursing profession and became a career firefighter/paramedic. Ginger earned the rank of Lieutenant in 2016. She also is a certified Fire/EMS Instructor, teaching at Career and Technology Education Center in Newark. Ginger is a lifelong member of Dresden United Methodist Church; where she has been a KidsHopeUSA mentor for the past 12 years. Ginger is also a Ohio Certified Crematory Operator.

Jim Baylor

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Jim graduated from Fairless High School (Navarre, OH) in 1965, he served 6 years in the Army Reserve. He retired from Coshocton Brake and Supply in 2010 after 44 years with the company. He has been a 45 year member of the Elks Lodge, served in all capacities from local, state and national levels; and was the Past President of the Ohio Elks Association in 2010. He has been on the Board of Directors for the Coshocton Head Start for 30 years.  

Jim is also a Ohio Certified Crematory Operator.

He was married to Patty for 47 years, whom passed away in 2016; they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Chad Jackson

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Chad is a 1993 graduate of Coshocton High School, and a 1994 graduate of The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. He is currently employed with The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, just having celebrated his 28th year of service to the community.

Chad is married to Diane (Shryock) Jackson and together they share four children. Chad’s downtime is spent with family, friends, on the golf course and going on Jeep rides.

Kaitlyn Saylor

Crematory Assistant

Kaitlyn was born and raised in Coshocton, having graduated from Coshocton High School in 2010. After graduating from Muskingum University in 2014 with a bachelor’s in Biology, she attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 2015 with an associate degree.

Kaitlyn is the youngest daughter of Keith and Pam Matz. She comes from a large family with four other siblings. In 2016, she married Joshua Saylor the oldest son of Art and Melissa Saylor. Together they have a son Jackson and daughter Kennedy. They chose to move back to Coshocton in 2015 as they had plans of starting a family and wanted to be near both their families that live locally. They also believed Coshocton is a great place to raise a growing family. In their spare time, the Saylor family enjoys being outdoors and being active. You can find them on their bikes with their kids on the back or playing any sport.

Valerie Miller

Crematory Assistant

Valerie, and her husband Matt have raised three children, Andrew (Emilee), Madison and Grace. She grew up in Frazeysburg where she was a 1995 Tri-Valley Graduate, and she has a degree in Business from Zane State College. She is a member of the Coshocton Rotary Club. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, and spending time with her family, including her dog, Miley.

Emilee Miller

Crematory Assistant

Emilee grew up in Coshocton and is a 2013 graduate of Coshocton High School, and a 2016 graduate of Zane State College.

In 2018, Emilee married Andrew Miller, who is the son of Matt and Valerie. She is the youngest child of Bob and Michelle Pell of Coshocton. Emilee and Andrew have two dogs, Leo and Lady. Emilee enjoys spending time with family, doing home projects, and reading.

Kerry Fender

Crematory Assistant

Kerry graduated from River View High School in 1972. He retired from AK Steel after 30 years of service.

He has been a member of Coshocton Elks Lodge #376 for 37 years.

Kerry is married to Debbie, they have 3 children Kara, Stephanie and Shawn. Their grandchildren are Taylor, Ethan, McKenna, Keeley, Alyza and Cole.

Kerry enjoys woodworking and golfing. He also enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

Mike bebout

Crematory Assistant

Mike is a 1969 graduate of Tri Valley High School. His parents were the late Ray and Betty Bebout. Mike married Leslie in 1973 and they have a son, daughter and three grandchildren. He retired from Owens Corning Newark in 2013 after 44 years with the company. Mike served 13 years in the Army reserves, is a member of the Coshocton Elks, Coshocton Army Navy and Dresden Legion Post 399. 

In his spare time Mike enjoys sports, family & friends.

Keith Matz

Crematory Assistant

Keith was born in Chicago, and moved to Coshocton as a 7th grader. He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1973. He worked for Clow Water Systems for 26 years, and is recently retired from Licking Memorial Hospital. Keith is a member of the Emmanual Lutheran Church in Coshocton.

Keith and his wife Pam have 5 children and 6 grandchildren, all living in the Coshocton area, and keeping them quite busy. Keith has been involved in SOCCA, High School Soccer, and now Extreme Soccer for the past 38 years. He is also a Coshocton High School track coach. Keith enjoys time with his family and being active.

Scott Powell

Crematory Assistant

Scott is a 1991 graduate of Coshocton High School and has lived in Coshocton his whole life. He has been married to his wife Heather since 1995. Together they have a daughter, Brittany, and a son, Colin.

Scott has been a volunteer firefighter since 1998 and is currently a lieutenant with Three Rivers Fire District. He has in the past been a member of React and a driver for EMS. He is currently the Superintendent of Cemeteries in Newcomerstown.

Scott enjoys hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Chad Johnson

Crematory Assistant

Chad graduated from Coshocton High School in 1990. He has been married to his wife Denise since 1994, and together have raised two children, Kelbie and Peyton. 

Chad spent 20 years working for Rock Tenn until they closed the plant. He then decided to attend a trade school, Mid-East and got his certificate in heavy equipment and received his class A CDL. He is currently employed by Wiley Company. He is a member of Coshocton City Council.

He enjoys spending time with his family, and working outdoors.

Peyton Johnson

Crematory Assistant

Peyton is a 2019 graduate of Coshocton High School. He works at Wiley’s and is part of their apprenticeship program in the electrical department. He also attends COTC working towards a degree in electrical engineering.

Peyton is married to Grace Miller, who is the daughter of Matt and Valerie. He is the son of Chad and Denise Johnson. Peyton has 4 cats and a dog, Bella, Benji, Boomer, Betty, and Birdie. He enjoys spending time with his fiancé and family, working out and riding his razor.

Doug Baylor

Crematory Assistant

Doug is a 1995 graduate of Coshocton High School and a 2001 graduate of COTC, he has been a lifelong resident of Coshocton.

He has been married to his wife Christy since 2002. Christy is an educator at Coshocton Elementary School. They have two daughters, Ella a recent graduate of Coshocton High School and Lucy a sophomore at Coshocton High School.

Doug has worked in the financial industry for 20 years and has spent the last 8 years working in the Investment department at a local financial institution. Doug has also been a member of the Coshocton Elks #376 for 27 years and is a Past Exalted Ruler of the Coshocton Lodge.

In his free time Doug enjoys spending time with his family and has in the past coached boys and girls’ soccer teams for Coshocton and most recently coached the tennis team and helped coach the swimming teams at Coshocton.

Andrés Antequera

Crematory Assistant

Andrés is a 2007 graduate of West Holmes High School. He attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 2011 with a degree in communications. Andrés spent over a decade working in the broadcast television industry for the local NBC affiliate in Columbus before transitioning to a career in public relations. He currently works for the City of Upper Arlington.

Andrés lives in Coshocton with his wife, Sara, and their two daughters. In his spare time, Andrés enjoys golfing, skiing, and winemaking.

Larry Freetage

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Larry graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1986. He grew up in West Lafayette, he has travelled all over the world. He studied Carpentry at Coshocton County Joint Vocational School and Security Management with American Military University. He retired after 30 years of honorable service as an ammunition explosives technician. Larry is a member of Army Navy Garrison #628 in Coshocton.

Larry is married to Brenda; children include Jessica (Freetage) Mardis, Derek Kaser (step-son), Amber Freetage and Darcie Kaser (step-daughter/Boss).

He enjoys woodworking, riding his motorcycle and taking his Chevelle out for a spin. He enjoys playing softball.

Larry is also an Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator.

Jeff Thorpe

Ohio Licensed Crematory Operator

Jeff Thorpe moved to Coshocton in 1980 from Atchison, KS, where he was an Auto Tech Graduate. Jeff is currently working at AK Steel where he has been for 24 years, and also owns and operates Thorpe’s Automotive.

Jeff is also a Ohio Certified Crematory Operator.

He has been a 25-year member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge. Jeff and Cindi have raised three sons, Cody, Tyler, and Tucker, and two step sons, Shawn and Shane (Shannon) Grant. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandkids, Scarlett and Oaklynn.
