Rodney Bowman Obituary

Rodney “Hot Rod” Bowman, 66, of Coshocton passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.  He was born in Coshocton to the late William “Bill” and Lelah (Hale) Bowman.

Rodney graduated from Coshocton High School in 1970 and worked for the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital for 30 years in the Dietary Department and BP in Newcomerstown before retiring in 2015.  He was a member of the Coshocton Moose Lodge and ASA Umpire for over 25 years. In his younger years he played softball for many different teams.  He coached boy’s baseball at Coshocton for most of his adult life. Rodney was a huge Coshocton Redskin fan; he never missed a baseball, basketball, or football game, he was always there to cheer them on.  He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. He loved watching his nieces and nephews play all sports, he was their biggest fan.

He is survived by his brother, Gary (Midge) Bowman of Coshocton; nephew Steve (Amy) Bowman of Coshocton; nieces Crystal (Matt) Kiser of Coshocton; four great nephews Dyson Bowman,  Deryk (Sam McIntire) Bowman, and Maison Kiser all of Coshocton; two great nieces Autumn (Tyler) Bradford and Mattalyn Kiser both from Coshocton; one step great great nephew, Ben Good of Coshocton; and one furry nephew, Skunk.

Rodney had great love for his family and friends.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and one hour prior to the funeral service.  Funeral services for Rodney will be held on Friday at 1:00pm with Ric Bonice officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards Community Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
