Robert E. Dobson, 91, of Coshocton, passed away at Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
Robert was born in Coshocton on November 22, 1931, to the late Oral and Esther (West) Dobson.
He graduated from Coshocton High School in the class of 1949, served in the United States Army and retired from McWane Ductile in Coshocton after thirty-eight years.
Robert attended Roscoe United Methodist Church and enjoyed meeting with the retirees from McWane. He was also quite the handyman, a skilled carpenter with a knack for building something out of nothing.
Robert is survived by his daughters Bobbi Jean (Mitchell) Fry, Shelley Renee (Justice) Brown and Angela Kay (Travis) Miller all of Coshocton; one son Rodney (Rebecca) Dobson of Zanesville; ten grandchildren Amy (Jamie) Trejo, Curtis (Trista) Fry, Aron Fry, Casey (Dustin) Brown, Eric Dobson, Kyle (Michelle) Dobson, Chelsea (Sam) Runnels, Brandy (Rodney) Proffit, Samantha Tubbs and Alyssa Lousha; thirteen great-grandchildren Kohdejai, Malik, Myrakle, Jaime, Eva, Isabella, Jazlene, Jalen, Levi, Luke, Trayce, Emma and Avery; three great-great grandchildren Andrea, Katia and Kiara.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean C. Dobson, whom he married August 10, 1951, Jean passed away on December 26, 2011; sons-in-law Terry McCoy and Jeff Lousha.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday November 8, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services for Robert will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.
