Raymond F. "Duke" Walters

Raymond F. “Duke” Walters, 87, of Coshocton, passed away at Altercare of Coshocton on Sunday January 26, 2020.

Duke was born in Coshocton on November 5, 1932 to the late Guy C. and Leotta A. (McConnell) Walters.  He graduated from Coshocton High School and retired from Clow Water Systems (McWane Ductile) in Coshocton after working for 39 years.   Duke also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Duke was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Coshocton and Local Union #7014 Retirees.

Duke is survived by his wife Nellie M. (Eckelberry) Walters; sons Denny (Patty) Walters, Michael (Robin) Walters and David (Vicki) Walters all of Coshocton, Clifford (Donna) Denning of Massillon, OH; daughters Debra (Kerry) Fender of Coshocton and Diana Brickles of West Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Jim) Hardesty, Betty Guilliams and Alice Rodgers all of Coshocton; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Kevin Denning; his first wife Carole Walters; four brothers Jurd, Robert, James and Bill Walters; two sisters Ruth Gross and Beverly Hoop; son in law Jay Brickles.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday January 28, 2020 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Funeral services for Duke will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Mark Granger and Pastor Karen Crawford officiating and Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors. 

A cremation will take place after the funeral services and burial of his cremated remains will be held in Franklin Township Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice of Coshocton and/or The American Cancer Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
