Mattie Jane Selders, age 92, of Coshocton, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 26, 1930 in Coshocton to the late Hugh Isaac and Nora Leona (Wright) Miller. On December 26, 1947, she married Charles Ralph Selders, who preceded her. She was a stay-at-home mother, providing and caring for her children. Mattie enjoyed making afghans and cooking for others. She enjoyed fishing and watching the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes football or Cleveland Guardians baseball games.
Mattie is survived by her children, Nancy (Rick) Conkle, Charles (Audrey) Selders and Don (Becky) Selders, all of Coshocton, Ken Chaney, Keith Chaney and Kathy (Denny) Stewart; grandchildren, Charles (Stacy) Selders, Robert Selders, Letitia Hoffman, Brad (Denise) Birkhimer, Darla (Scott) Terrell, Wendy (Mark) Hobson, Jeramie (Lindsay) Selders, JR (Jenny) Dovenbarger, Malissa (Don) Quincel, Kristin (Brett) Steinhauser and Adam (Lindsay) Conkle; 50 Great-grandchildren and 24, great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kirk Chaney and daughters-in-law, Kathy Chaney and Kristy Chaney; grandchildren, Jennifer Selders, Kelly Mathias and Tony Hoffman; siblings, Esther Jarvis, Grace Dickerson, Russell, Corbitt, Earl, James and Robert Miller and fiancé, Edwin Clay Chaney.
Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11am with an hour of calling hour prior with Pastor Paul Schwab officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Coshocton Baptist Church at 1631 Denman Ave in Coshocton. Contributions can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or American Lung Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
