Kathy “Kate” Shivers, 65, of West Lafayette passed away Saturday December 12, 2020 at her home. She was born in Circleville, Ohio on February 7, 1955 to the late Curtis and Glenna (Perry) Reid.
Kate was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and was the head cook for Ridgewood High School and Ridgewood Elementary for 31 years before retiring. She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church. She loved reading, musicals, going to sporting events, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kate is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kirby Shivers; children Scott (Georgia) Shivers, Robin (Jamison) Shannon, and Jaime (Christopher) Cabot all of West Lafayette; grandchildren Tayler and Ashton Shivers, Maggie Shannon, and Cohen, Jackson, and Weston Cabot; brother William Reid; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings Peg Foreman, Betty Bainter, and Curtis “Pete” Reid; nephews Tim and Dave Foreman.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Friday December 18, 2020 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services for Kate will be Saturday at 11:00am with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research or Community Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19, attendees coming to the funeral home are required to wear their own face masks are visitors inside the funeral home will be limited.
