Edith “Edie” Adams, 90, of Coshocton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 19, 2022. She was born on August 3, 1932 to the late Joseph and Bessie (Douglass) Swails.
Edie graduated from Coshocton High School in 1951 and worked at Ohio Fabricators and retired from General Electric after 30 years. She was a member of Prairie Chapel Church, loved art, dancing, drawing, bowling, golfing and ceramics. Edie loved traveling; she and her husband were “Snowbirds, spending their winters in Florida for over 30 years.
Edie is survived by her grandchildren Jennifer (Joris) Coopmans, Jesse (Yesenia) Hains, Jenna (Greg) Armstrong, Chad (Dustin Hartsock) Bradford, John Adams, Nick (Emily) Adams, Nate (Courtney) Adams; great-grandchildren Oliver, Liam, and Reeve Coopmans, Jesse Jr., Zaiden, Keshaun, Shaniah, Chloe, Hazel, Iker and Bradley, and Brynn and John Armstrong; stepson Jeff (Ann) Adams of Idaho; sister Thelma Keener of Painesville, Ohio; sister-in-law Lois Swails; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years Gerald “Wayne” Adams, who passed away in 2019; son John Hains who passed away in 2008; infant daughter Sandra Kay Hains; siblings John (Betty) Swails, Russell Swails, Joe (Sue) Swails, Florence (Bill) Fogleson, Dorothy (Bernie) Johnson, and Sarah (Glenn) Fleming; brother-in-law Walter Keener.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 10:00am – 11:00am with funeral services beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Matt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be directed towards Prairie Chapel Church or Ohio Health hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
