Dennis L. Willis, 73, of Coshocton passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus on Monday December 14, 2020.
Dennis was born in Canton, Ohio on September 4, 1947 to the late Dean Harry and Jean Ruth (Haines) Willis.
After high school, Dennis honorably served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. Once he returned, he started working in the deep mines for the Peabody Coal Company, then was a salesman for the Coca Cola Company, before working at the Coshocton County Regional Medical Center in the maintenance department where he retired in 2011. Dennis was an avid reader of Civil War history and treasured spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Willis; son, Christopher Sean (Shiloh Lynn) Willis of Howard; daughter, Angela Dawn (Thomas Jay) Babcock of Coshocton; 4 grandchildren, Justin Dean (Morgan Dawn) Willis of Gambier, and Alicia Naomi Willis of Howard; Shelby Lynn Babcock of Coshocton, and Talon Jay Babcock of Cincinnati; and 8 great grandchildren, Karter James King, Kylie Jean Willis, Kora Justine Willis, Klaire Jeslynn Willis, Brynlee Jo Willis, Adalynn Dawn Shepard, Ahnaya Christine Fife, and Layton Thomas Smith.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday December 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Noon where funeral services begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.
Due to COVID-19, guests coming to the funeral home are required to wear their own face masks and visitors inside the building will be limited.
