Clayton Lee Carkin

Clayton Lee Carkin, age 21, passed away on March 7, 2023 in Flagler Beach, Florida. He was born on October 10, 2001 in Coshocton, Ohio to Scott Carkin and Brandi Giesey. He was a 2020 graduate of Coshocton High School. He was currently working at Reconditioning Professionals. Clayton truly lived life to the fullest. He never took life too seriously; he lit up a room and enjoyed making others laugh. His friends and family found comfort in Clayton and saw him as a shoulder to lean on. He would encourage those he encountered and would lift them up. He was very loyal to those around him and loved big. Those who knew Clayton would say he was a real one and was always vibing to music.

Clayton is survived by many friends and family that were near to his heart. His parents, Brandi (Ben) Giesey and Scott (Angie Jennings) Carkin; siblings, Jordan (Sarah Sawman) Carkin, Kolbie Carkin, Grayson Giesey, Jaxson Giesey and Savannah Jennings; grandparents, Gladys “Grandma the Great” Farrell, Kay “Grandy” Farrell, Dan “Papa” Royer and Monte “Happy” Giesey; special aunts, Hallie Royer, Lisa Carkin and Angie Harmon; cousins, Caleb Carkin and Laurissa “Rissy” Muncy, along with several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Another special person, his girlfriend, Leah McMahon. Not all friends and family could be mentioned as Clayton had a big heart and considered so many people his family.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Jim “Pap” Farrell, Grandma Tammy Hupp and Jeannine “Neanea” Royer along with many friends that were gone too soon.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 7pm with Pastor Andy Bird officiating.
