Cheryl Smailes

Cheryl Smailes, 64, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the OSU James Cancer Center. She was born on June 23, 1957 to the late Mary (Foster) Wright and Raymond Wright, who survives. She was a 1975 graduate of Coshocton High School. On August 30, 1980, she married Dennis Smailes, who survives. She worked as a secretary for the Coshocton Auditor’s office. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting as well. Above all, she loved her grandchildren, she would do crafts with them and have cookouts for her family.

Along with her father and husband, she is survived by her children, Joshua (Sara) Smailes of Conesville and Brian (Ashley) Smailes of Kimbolton; grandchildren, Saylor, Kade, Kole, Kase, Kinsley and Brenna; siblings, Denise (John) McPeak of Coshocton, Susan Wright of Florida and Greg (Teresa) Wright of Warsaw; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 5 to 7pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11am. Burial will follow at the Coshocton Memory Gardens.
