Carol Nelson Obituary

Carol L Nelson, age 78, of Coshocton, passed suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023. She was born on March 23, 1944 in Coshocton to the late Frank and Helen (Glass) Parks. She attended Plainfield School and was a 1962 graduate of Ridgewood High School. On June 15, 1962, she married Robert “Bob” Nelson, who survives. Carol was Bob’s right-hand woman in his Real Estate career and managed the River Glenn Estate Mobile Home Park. She enjoyed spending time with family, supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events and many hours at horse shows. She put up with shenanigans from her favorite child, Rob; son-in-law, Lyle and grandson, Tyler “Rob Jr.”. She loved to ride in her gator through the woods, with her dog Junior and feeding her pet deer. Family members knew not to call between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm during her favorite show, Jeopardy.

Carol was very active in her community. She was a member of the Isleta United Methodist Church. She was involved in the 4-H horse program for 55 years. In her earlier years, she was involved in Silver Bar Saddle Club and Muskingum Horse Association. She was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.

Along with her husband, Carol is survived by her children, Janette (Lyle) McCullough and Rob (Angela) Nelson; grandchildren, Lindsay (Daniel Moore) McCullough and Tyler (Taylor) McCullough; great-grandson, Brooks McCullough; sister, Shirley Reddick and brother-in-law, Thomas (Irva) Nelson and Gary (Rebecca) Nelson.
