William W. Brown III, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on August 9, 2025, in Coshocton, leaving behind a legacy of service, humor, and love.

Born on June 6, 1937, in Syracuse, New York, Bill distinguished himself through his education, career, and community involvement.

Bill graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, which led him to a rewarding career at General Electric in Coshocton. His technical expertise and innovative spirit were evident throughout his professional journey. Alongside his beloved wife, Sue L. Brown, he co-founded and operated the Classic Auto T-Bird Shop in Coshocton, where their passion for Thunderbirds and commitment to quality came to life.

Bill was not only an accomplished engineer and business owner but also a devoted family man. He cherished his wife, Sue, whom he married on July 3, 1958, and was proud of his children: Jim (Betsy) Brown, Bobby Brown, both of Coshocton, and Lynn (Don) Severance of Baltimore, Ohio. Bill's role as a grandfather brought him immense joy as he doted on Savannah and Georgia Brown, Daniel (Mae) DeChaine-Thomas, Ayla, Koen, Terah, Jacy Severance, and his sister Margaret (Geri) McManus of Melbourne, FL.

A dedicated community member, Bill was recognized for his numerous contributions and achievements. He was the proud recipient of the Coshoctonian Award and served as a past president of the Coshocton Rotary Club, where he had belonged since 1980. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his local sphere; he was an active member and past treasurer of the Classic Thunderbird Club International, served on the distribution committee for the Coshocton Foundation, and was a member of the RHDD board.

Bill passionately advocated for new opportunities for the developmentally disabled, demonstrating his selfless nature and desire to uplift those around him.

Bill was devoted to family, cars, and Rotary - not necessarily in that order.

Throughout his life, Bill was known for his clever humor and warm heart, qualities that endeared him to those who knew him. He made lasting friendships and touched the lives of many in the greater Coshocton community.

Preceded in death by his parents, William W. Brown II and Margaret E. (Sargent) Brown, Bill leaves behind a rich legacy filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to service. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the countless lives he influenced.

Per Bill’s wishes, a cremation will take place, and no services will be observed.

The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
