Terry Nelson

Terry A. Nelson, 71, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 19, 1954, to the late Albert F. Sr. and Kathryn (Dobson) Nelson, Terry lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

A 1974 graduate of River View High School, Terry spent many years working in the hauling and refuse industry. He retired from Skips Refuse after 23 years of dedicated service and had also worked for five years at Fishers Hauling.

Terry enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan who rarely missed an NFL game. He loved cheering on his favorite team, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His sense of humor, affectionate nicknames, and love for those closest to him created countless memories that will be cherished forever.

On June 1, 1995, Terry married the love of his life, Jeanna (Buker) Nelson, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by his children: Jenny “Kid” Nelson, Stephanie “Whiner” Fenn, Kyle “Water Boy” (Melissa “Girl”) Nelson, and Amber “Peanut” Hudson. He was a proud grandfather to Lindsey (Milo) Nelson, Jeffery “Bubba” Gottschalk, Drake “Drakey Drizzle” (Zoe) Fenn, Danika “Shorty” Johnson, Caine “Chain” Albaugh, Alexandra “Fester” Nelson, Ava “Baby Ava” Nelson, Adalynn “Kid” Nelson, Malaysia “Mae Mae” Collins, and Kendrick “Kendro” Collins. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Bentley Schmaelzle, Greyson Nelson, and Shyanne Nelson; and his brother, Mark Nelson, sister-in-law, Lee Ellen “Sue Jordan” Jones and two special bonus sons, Harley “Race” Wilson and Jordan “Gordy” Jones as well as several nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert F. (Susie)Nelson Jr. and Jim (Gladys) Nelson; his beloved grandson, Corey “Peeper” Gottschalk; niece, Stephanie Harrah; sister-in-law, Sandy Nelson and brother-in-law, Randy Jones; mother-in-law Linda K. Buker; grandparents (in-law) Forest and Mary Buker; and grandparents Cleon “Tinker” and Lillie Dobson.

Terry had previously requested that everyone attending funeral services for Terry please wear their favorite sports apparel. Following services all are welcome to join the family for some time of food and fellowship at the Coshocton Village Inn and Suites.

Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, OH 43812 on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Mike Jansen officiating. A cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Miller Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
