Leota "Susie" M. Mathias

Leota M. "Susie" Mathias, 93, of Coshocton, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Coshocton Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Coshocton on March 8, 1933, to the late John and Goldie (Gallagher) Gilmore.

Susie attended Coshocton High School. She married the love of her life, Vernon Mathias, in 1950. Together they built a life centered on family, and she devoted herself to being a homemaker while raising their three children.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Mathias; her sons, Vernon "Gene" (Cindy) Mathias and Clifford (Pam) Mathias, both of Coshocton; her grandchildren, Darcy (Greg) Bailey of Kent, Ohio, Chelsea (Micah) Hudson of Columbus, OH, Veronica (Brett) Wycinski of Columbus, Ohio, and Jonathan Mathias of South Carolina; and her great-grandchildren, Abigail Mathias and Jaxon and Maxim Bailey.

In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Jerry Hardesty.

Susie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her caring heart, and the many memories she created with those she loved.

Per Susie's wishes there will be no services and a cremation will take place.
