Stephen Wright

August 20, 1947 — October 16, 2025

Stephen G. Wright, 78, of Coshocton, passed away on October 16, 2025 at Lafayette Pointe. He was born on August 20, 1947 in Zanesville to the late George W. and Eileen (Rodhe) Wright. He graduated valedictorian of his 1965 class at Union High School, which was the last graduating class. As their starting pitcher, he took the Trojans baseball team to the Ohio State Championship. He began his collegiate years at the Ohio State University, leaving early to join the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he served for 10 years in military intelligence with Special Operations. In his tenure of service, he met and married his late wife Tasanee Wright and they would spend several years together building and enjoying their family. Following his service, he completed the IBEW electrical apprenticeship program and worked as a journeyman electrician at the AEP Conesville Plant, where he worked for almost 20 years. He then worked at Timken where he went back to school to finish his associates degree at Columbus State. Stephen was determined and hardworking which is evident in his career path and his hobbies outside of work.

He enjoyed the thrill of fast cars and riding motorcycles and the slow times of sipping bourbon or scotch with a nice cigar. He was an avid gun collector and deer hunter. Most of all, he was proud of his sons for following in his footsteps by serving in the United States Army.

Stephen is survived by his sons, Eric (Jody) Wright and Jason (Elizabeth) Wright; grandchildren, Payton (Derek) Robertson, Adyson and Caleb Wright, Anthony (Haley) Wright, Jaimie Wright, Corey Richardson, Katina Reed and Shaniqua and Shaseanna Walker; siblings, Greg (Sharon) Wright, Jeff (Lynette) Wright and Jamie Wright.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Tasanee.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 1:30pm with Chuck Micheal leading the service. The Coshocton County Honor Guard will perform military honors.
