Ruth I. Dickerson, 95, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Altercare Coshocton. Ruth was born in Roscoe on July 7, 1930 to the late Ralph and Mayme (Bantum) Dickerson.
Ruth was a 1948 graduate of Coshocton High School and began working at Edmont Inc., until she retired at the age of 55. She was an avid reader and loved all animals, especially her dog Ace. She also enjoyed walks in Roscoe Village for almost 4 decades with her sister-in-law, Shirley. Ruth was always loving and kind, with never a negative word about anyone. She was always helping friends and family whenever someone needed a hand (baby-sitting great nieces and nephews, running errands to the grocery store, taking friends and family to doctor's appointments and always lending a listening ear when someone just needed to talk).
Ruth is survived by her six nieces and nephews: Robert (Kathy) Kohler of Coshocton, Ohio; Danny (Rhonda) Kohler of New Albany, Ohio; Timothy (Jennifer) Kohler of Coshocton, Ohio; Mitch (Lisette) Dickerson of Groveport, Ohio; Ruth Kohler of Coshocton, Ohio; Diane (Joe) Schlegel of New Albany, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and her canine companion Ace.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lena Dickerson, sister Maxine and her husband Bob Kohler, her brother Stanley and his wife Shirley Dickerson, and her wonderful friend Jane Chaney.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice and Altercare Coshocton for such kind and caring support through such a difficult time.
Per Ruth's wishes, a cremation will take place. There will be no services per her request.
