Richard Austin "Dick" Johnson, 76, of Coshocton, passed away on October 30, 2025, at his home in Coshocton.
He was born on April 9, 1949, to the late Charles A. and Margaret Ann (Seckman) Johnson.
He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1967 and served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1970. He was employed at Edmont Wilson before going to Simco Peabody until the mines closed. He was self-employed for a time before going to work at the Oakes in Coshocton, in which he retired from in 2015. He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church.
Dick spent time taking care of his family and anyone else that needed help. He loved his grandchildren and spent as much time with them as he could. He also loved fishing and picnics with his family. He kept his yard well maintained and was passionate about woodworking. Most of all, he loved to work no matter where he went. He was always found doing something.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Linda M. (Hughes) Johnson; son Brian K. "Kelly" (Chris Showalter) Johnson of Kimbolton, OH; daughter Shelly (Tracy) Saft of Cambridge, OH; three grandchildren, Landon and Bristol Saft of Cambridge, and Austin Johnson of Kimbolton; sister Nancy McMillen of Coshocton; special nephew and nieces Stephen, Melissa and Annie Stover of Summersville, WV; as well as many other family members.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Russell "Rusty" Johnson; sister Delores Smith; and brother Charles Robert "Bob" Johnson.
A cremation will take place with The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory in Coshocton.
Graveside funeral services for Dick will be held in Kimbolton Cemetery, Kimbolton, OH on Thursday November 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM Noon with Mark Granger officiating and Guernsey County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.
