Richard Borden

Richard Borden, 82, of West Lafayette passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Truman House. He was born on September 3, 1942 in Coshocton to the late Wilbur and Hazel (Hawkins) Borden. On, March 3, 1964, he married Louise (Howell) Borden, who passed in 2016. He worked his career as a lineman at AEP for over 30 years until his retirement. In his free time, he had a small farm. He enjoyed being outside and tending to his animals. In addition to farming, he loved to deer hunt.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Sherry Wolford and husband Jack of Kingston, TN; two sons, Shawn Borden of New Philadelphia, and Shane Borden and wife Colleen of Coshocton; five grandchildren, Alicia Borden, Ashley (Josh) Shearn, Nicole Wolford, Tricia (Andrew) Shymchyk, and Rebekah Borden; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Reva Borden as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Asire and Robert Borden.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 5 to 6pm and an hour prior to the service. The funeral will be on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 12pm with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
