Rexford J. “Rex” Waldenmyer, a dedicated law enforcement professional and beloved family man, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Coshocton, Ohio.
Born on March 11, 1952, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Rex was a proud graduate of Butler Area High School and later pursued higher education at Clarion College in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
Rex devoted his life to law enforcement, where he made significant contributions throughout his career. Most recently, he served as a Detective at the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office.
In addition to his distinguished career, Rex was an enthusiastic classic car aficionado. He found joy in the hunt for rare vehicles, particularly 60's muscle cars, dedicating his time to restoring and collecting them. His passion for classic cars brought him much satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.
Rex leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan E. Waldenmyer whom he married March 3, 1997; two sons, Rett Waldenmyer of Tracy, CA and Cory Waldenmyer of Columbus, OH. He was a cherished grandfather to Lucas, Logan, and Waylon Waldenmyer. Rex also leaves behind his brother, Brad (Robin) Waldenmyer of SC, and his stepchildren, Michael D'Andrea of Coshocton and Bethany (Jennifer) Wiseman of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dale Waldenmyer, and his mother, Mary Alice Waldenmyer.
Rex Waldenmyer will be remembered not only for his dedication to public service but also as a kind and loving family member who left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy continues through the lives he touched and the values he instilled in his family.
Per Rex’s wishes, a cremation will take place with The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Coshocton, Ohio.
