Nora Marie Fry, 85, of Coshocton, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born in Coshocton, Ohio, on October 30, 1940, to the late Neal E. and Mina (Sturtz) Guinther.
Nora graduated from Sacred Heart High School and earned her associate degree in nursing from Belmont Technical College. She worked as an LPN for more than 40 years at various healthcare facilities throughout Coshocton County before retiring from Family Physicians.
Nora was a loyal member of Conesville Wesleyan Church, where she was deeply involved in her church and faith. Her love for Jesus was evident in the way she lived her life and cared for others. She was also a member of the Pink Ladies and the Conesville Firemen's Auxiliary and served as a sign language interpreter.
Above all, Nora cherished her family. Her goal in life was to be the best mother and wife she could be. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved her family dearly. Nora had a very dry sense of humor and could be a little ornery, qualities that brought plenty of smiles and fond memories to those who knew and loved her.
Nora is survived by her children, Paula (Jeff) Rowlands, Jan Elder, Luke (Sheri) Elder, Linda (Jim) McConnell, and Mary Ellen (Dick) McCune; siblings, Brenda Dinan, Mark Guinther, Joe (Karen) Guinther, and Veronica McCabe; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Nora was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert "Bob" Elder, who passed away in 2002, and Richard "Dick" Fry, who passed away in 2025; her children, Robert, Scott, and Curtis Elder; siblings Jeff Guinther and Beverly Bintz.
Nora leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion to her family.
