Max W. Cox II, 78, of Coshocton, a beloved man known for his fun spirit and quiet kindness, passed away on October 15, 2025, at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Born on April 23, 1947, in Coshocton, Max dedicated his life to his family, his country and his career.

Max graduated in the last class of Three Rivers High School and retired from AEP Conesville Power Plant in 2007. He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Warsaw, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Moose, Eagles and lifetime member of the V.F.W.

Max's love for his family was evident in all that he did. He is survived by cherished wife, Diane (Lorenz) Cox. Max also leaves behind his son, Andy (Lori) Cox of Warsaw, along with his grandsons, Bryar (Madison) Cox, Warren (Madeline Muetzel) Cox; granddaughter Carolyn (Andrew Ireland) Cox. These family members were central to his life, and he delighted in spending time with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime. He is also survived by his siblings Dan (Phyllis) Cox of Pickerington, OH, Linda (David) Myers of San Fransico, CA, Michael (Leslie) Cox of Candler, NC and Gary (Tammy) Cox of Avon, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing softball and trap shooting. Later in life he indulged in his passion for golf. It was not just a sport for him, but a way to connect with friends and share moments of joy on the course. Max and his wife Diane also enjoyed traveling to their grandchildren’s sporting events.

Max served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. His military service was a turning point for him, and it shaped his strong character and sense of duty.

Preceding him in death was his son, Jason Cox, whose memory remains vivid in the hearts of those he left behind, and his parents Max W. and Marie (Dickerson) Cox.

As we remember Max, we honor a man who lived life fully, embraced the joy of family, and showed kindness and generosity to all he met. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
