Marjorie (Marge) Erman died, December 31, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1939, in Coshocton, OH, to the late Lester and Lucille Chapman. She lived with her mother and father until her mother became too ill to live at home and went to a long-term care facility when Marjorie was five. She then lived with her father until the time of his death when she was thirteen. Following her father's death, she was blessed to join Pastor Olen and Christine Aughbaugh and their children as a foster child.
She was a 1957 graduate of Coshocton High School. She received her nursing degree from Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX, in 1959, specializing in surgical nursing. She began her nursing career at Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH. She retired from Coshocton County Memorial Hospital as the Infection Control Nurse in 2009.
On January 14, 1960, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Wayne Erman. She moved to Rhode Island to join him on the navel base where he was stationed. In 1963 they returned to Coshocton where they built a life together.
Marjorie was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She was active on church council, led the women's group and enjoyed her time in the kitchen during the holiday bazaar. Noodle making was one of her favorite activities.
Marjorie was a dedicated member of the Coshocton County Herb Society. She spoke often about club events and the joy she felt from spending time with other club members.
Marjorie was well known for her love of painting. Her husband, Wayne, was her wood worker and cut out the figures that she brought to life with her painting. Her work can be seen in many homes throughout Coshocton. She also loved to cook and entertain friends and family in her home. She was also a gifted seamstress. She was incredibly talented and set aside time to be creative.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Karen (Mark) Andrews of West Lafayette, OH, her son, Todd (Cynthia) Erman of Millersburg, OH. Two granddaughters, Shawnna Erman of Millersburg, OH, and Raichelle (Mike) Fortunato of Canonsburg, PA. One great granddaughter, Railynn Hinkle of Millersburg, OH. A foster sister, Mary Christine (Doug) Smith of Miamisburg, OH.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, parents, and foster parents. A foster brother, John Manley Aughbaugh.
Calling hours will be at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours at 1pm with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1299, Coshocton, OH 43812.
