Marilyn Ann (Roller) McNichols, 88, of Coshocton went to her heavenly home to join her husband Tom on Tuesday, October 6, leaving behind a legacy of family, faith and love that will remain with us for the days ahead.
Marilyn was born in Coshocton on April 13, 1938, to the late John and Lucille (Bordenkircher) Roller. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.
Marilyn married Thomas Joseph McNichols on September 8, 1956. Together, Tom and Marilyn built a beautiful family and life full of love. They had five children, Patricia (Philip) Brown of Warsaw, Timothy (Cindy) McNichols of Columbus, Thomas (Lisa) McNichols of Newark, Amy (Brian) Reiss of Coshocton, and Matthew McNichols of Coshocton; grandchildren Jennifer McNichols, Tiffany (Dustin) Gregory, Megan (Kevin Walsh) McNichols, Michelle McNichols, Sean (Nancy) McNichols, Julie (James) Davenport, Michael "MJ" McNichols, Brianne (Kelsey) Reiss, Kelly (Tyler) Rausch-Davis, Jessica (Jason) Millward, Mark (Sara Thomas) McNichols, Molly (Nathan) Modesitt, Jana (Cole) Nethers, Josh McNichols, Jayden McNichols, Cadence McNichols and Colin McNichols; great grandchildren Dustin, Aria & Adelaide Gregory; Laila & Amelia McNichols; Luke, Jacob & Jaycie Davenport; Nora West & Holden "Huck" Reiss; Callie & Savannah McNichols; Maeve & Grace Walsh; Jaxon & Madison Nethers; Theo Modesitt; Rachel & Matthew Rausch-Davis; Jameson & Jelynn Millward; and Hunter & Lucy McNichols.
Marilyn always had close ties to Roscoe Village, from making costumes for Village employees while raising her family to later working in the Alley Shop and then managing the General Store for over twenty years. In addition to being a talented seamstress, she was an avid quilter and member of the Coshocton Canal Quilters.
She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Jones of Mt. Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Brian Reiss, granddaughter Jenae' McNichols and infant grandsons Thomas and James McNichols.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Sunday October 11, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, October 12, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Anish Thomas and Deacon Doug Mould officiating, followed by interment in Roscoe Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Roscoe Village Visitor Center following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Church, The Brian Reiss Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O The Coshocton Foundation, P.O. Box 55, Coshocton, OH 43812 and/or The Jenae' McNichols Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1437, Hebron, OH 43025; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
