Lowell G Damron

Lowell G. Damron, 90, of Coshocton passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday September 19, 2026.

Lowell was born on July 3, 1936, in Buchanan County, Virginia, to Fonnie C. Damron and Nova D. Reynolds. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1957.

Lowell was raised in Pikeville, KY where he began his working career as a coal miner, but spent much of his working life behind the wheel. He moved to Westerville, OH where he began his truck driving career for Roadway Express in Columbus and later spent 35 years hauling for the Amish, a job that allowed him to build many lasting relationships and travel the country.

A man who appreciated the simple things in life, Lowell especially loved bluegrass music. He enjoyed listening to and playing music he loved and spending time with family and friends.

Lowell is survived by his children Karen Dotson of Columbus, Pamela (Danny Smith) Spires of Westerville, Trudi (Pat) LeMaster of Marysville, Troy “Jack” Nace of Orient, OH and Kevin (Perla Gutierrez) Damron of Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren Amanda (Bill) Blake, Jimbo (Joanna) Damron, Kia Lea and Kenzie Spires, Jessica Steiner, Emily, PJ and Sophia LeMaster, Kevin “LG”, Krystal, Vivianna Damron and Ashley Hernandez; great grandchildren Zane, Nova, Damien, Riley, Jauhna Lea, Roczen, Hayes, Onyx, Aubri, Jeremi, Jeana, Sage, Bentley; one brother James D. (Desset) Damron of Rockhouse, KY and Rita Joyce Adkins of Creston, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lowell will be remembered not only as a beloved father, brother, and family member, but also for the kindness, values, and lasting impressions he shared with those around him. He believed in the

importance of family, treating others with respect, and being there for the people who mattered to him. Through the everyday moments of his

life, Lowell made a difference in the lives of those who knew him, leaving behind stories, lessons, and memories that will be cherished for years to come. His influence will continue through the family and friends he loved, ensuring that the values he held dear and the impact of his life will be carried forward for generations.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Rita G. Damron; sons in law John Spires and James Dotson; siblings Lois Evelyn Harmack, Scotty Randall Damron, Don “Eddie” Damron, Wanda June Schaffhauser, Terry Allen Damron, Teddy Bruce Damron and Judy Ann Kelly.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday September 24, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral services for Lowell will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chris Cutshall officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus at 1:00 PM with military honors being performed.
