John Russell Fleming

John Russell Fleming, age 82, of Coshocton passed away on July 30, 2026 at Altercare of Coshocton. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on August 18, 1943 to the late Lester and Lucille (Mills) Fleming. He entered the United States Navy in 1962 and served until 1967. On June 18, 1977, he married Barbara (Hammersley) Fleming, who passed away in 2023. He was a member of New Life ministries, the Coshocton Gun Club and an NRA life member. For several years he was the commander of VFW Post 2040 and a member at the Moose, Eagles and Army Navy. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

John is survived by his two step-sons, Robert R. "Bobby" Cutshall Jr. and Michael "Mike" E. (Lisa) Cutshall; grandchildren, Clay (Randi) Cutshall, Desiree Cutshall, Connor Cutshall, Amy (Steve) Benson, Tiffany Arden, Bradley (Anna) Bechtol, Richard (Ashleigh) Bechtol; 16 great grandchildren and siblings, Marjorie Carnes and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bickel and Pat Fleming as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Anna Jacobs, Betty Fleming and Larry Fleming; brother-in-law, William A. Bickel Sr. and nephew, William A. Bickel Jr.

Calling hours will be at The Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 12pm to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiating. The burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery with the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing Military Honors.
