James "Jim" Boyd Fletcher, 76, of Coshocton, passed away at his home on Sunday October 4, 2026.

Jim was born on December 14, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to late Frances Fletcher and Boyd Fletcher.

Jim met his wife, Linda, in 1967 and married in 1971. Jim graduated from Bishop's Latin School in 1967 and obtained a business degree at Allegheny Community College in 1969. Jim enlisted in the United States Coast Guard from 1970-1974. He was stationed in Baltimore, Maryland and worked as a seaman and then a quartermaster on the USS Primrose.

After his service, Jim worked as a cost accountant at Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville, PA. He then went to night school to obtain his B.S. in Business Administration at Robert Morris University. Jim continued to work at Universal Cyclops as a cost account. In 1985, Jim was transferred to Universal Cyclops "AK Steel" in Coshocton, Ohio, where he continued his career until he retired after 34 years of service.

Jim was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching the games. He loved going on walks, reading and devoted much of his time during tax season helping people at local senior centers prepare their taxes as a partner with AARP. He also enjoyed going to the beach and visiting his daughter and family in California. He was a great "pap pap" to his grandchildren and attended many sporting events and dance recitals over the years.

He is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Linda, and daughters Michele (Matt) Dell and Jamie (Mike) Maslanka, furry friend, Marley, and beloved grandchildren Addyson, Caiden, Caysen, and Raeya. Also, survived by his brother, Robert (Janice) Fletcher, brother-in-laws Robert Sorice, Jeffrey (Brenda) Sorice, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday October 9, 2026 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm where funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Deacon Doug Mould officiating. Interment will follow in Coshocton County Memorial Gardens where the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
