Erma M. Lorenz, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2025, at The Inn at Library Way in Hilliard, OH. Born on March 10, 1934, in Baltic, Ohio, Erma was the cherished daughter of Esta (Goss) and Floyd Lautenschleger Sr. She was a proud graduate of Baltic High School and dedicated much of her life to serving her community and family.
Erma worked as a secretary for a local realtor and as an instructional aide at Hopewell School, where she touched the lives of many children with her kindness and commitment to education. A lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, she participated actively in the Altar Guild, where her faith and love for her community flourished.
Erma was a gifted seamstress and cared deeply for her garden, finding joy and peace in nurturing both plants and family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Glenn W. Lorenz, who preceded her in death on March 7, 2025. Together, they created a home filled with love and laughter for their children.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria "Tori" Vazquez, her son Randall (Kristy) Lorenz, and her cherished grandchildren, Charles Brian and Emma Maria Vazquez and Corbin Thomas and Nora Mai Lorenz. Erma was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Lorenz, and will be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Marlene Lautenschleger, Louise Lautenschleger, and Carol Lautenschleger, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will carry her legacy of love and compassion.
Erma is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Lorenz, son Brian Lorenz, and siblings, Kathryn Lautenschleger, Rolland "Rollie" (Donna Jean) Lautenschleger, Jacob (Lois) Lautenschleger, Floyd Lautenschleger Jr., Mary Lou (Dean) Huprich, Glen Lautenschleger, and Richard Lautenschleger. In this time of sorrow, we remember Erma not just for the years she lived, but for the love she shared and the lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
