Debra Starkey

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Debra Ann Starkey. She passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025 at the age of 68 at Altercare in Coshocton, Ohio. Born on October 12, 1956 in Washington, DC. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Sigler) Yacapraro, Sr. In 1986, she married Orville Lee Starkey with whom she shared 25 years of happiness, until his passing in 2011.

Known for her caring nature and generous spirit, Debra was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and a cherished friend to many. Debra's passion for gift giving was known to all, and she was always blessing others with her generosity.

Debra is survived by her children, David (Terri) Nally, Rich (Heather) Starkey and Sara (Josh) Smailes; her grandchildren, Katelynn (Coven) Mullett, (Tanner and Stetson); Macie (Cody) Straits (Scarlett); Monica (Zach) Wigton; Nathan and Hannah Nally; Brandon (Haley) Starkey, (Lauren and Wyatt); Zach (Ella Baylor) Starkey; Alexis Starkey, Saylor and Kade Starkey, Kole and Kase Smailes; bonus grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Williams, (Aira); Tina (Jeremy) Moyer, (Charlie and Wyatt); Moriah Williams, Josiah (Tori) Williams, (Luke, Josie, Henry); a brother, Joseph (Penny) Yacapraro, Jr. and a sister, Dianna (Patrick) Moran; and several nieces and nephews.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Orville L. Starkey; parents, Joseph A. and Bessie M. (Sigler) Yacapraro, Sr.; a brother, David B. Yacapraro; a sister, Margaret (Peg) Del Toro and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributions be made to Hospice in honor of Debra.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm with Larry Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
