David Blair

October 23, 1974 — September 18, 2025

David Blair, a radiant soul, moved on, on September 18, 2025, in Zanesville, Ohio. Born on October 23, 1974, in Holmes County, he was a testament to beauty of chasing dreams, igniting passion, and nurturing friendships, no matter where he traveled.

From the tender age of eight, David found his calling in the floral world, working in Ed Kiefer's floral shop. It was here that his love for design blossomed into a vibrant career. He ultimately stepped boldly into the limelight, owning and operating Dee's Flowers in Los Angeles, where he crafted exquisite designs that turned heads at star-studded events, television productions, and corporate gatherings. His work was not merely functional; it was an ode to creativity, an embodiment of artistry that enchanted all. Lavish parties hosted by him echoed with laughter and awe, as David poured his heart into every detail.

An outgoing, hardworking, and generous man, David was a beacon of kindness and enthusiasm in every organization he touched. No task was too small for him; he always extended a helping hand. As the past president of the Heisey Collectors of America at the Heisey Glass Museum he reflected his deep care and commitment to preserving memories of the past, enriching the museum and placing his own impression that will forever last.

A craftsman at heart, he loved to create and design throughout his childhood, transforming ordinary materials into works that sparked joy. Christmas was a particular passion, where he would design his own ornaments and throw spectacular gatherings that brought the cheer of the season to life-down to the artificial snow he would even import to warm Los Angeles winters.

David's adventurous spirit led him on journeys far and wide, earning him friendships in places most can only dream about. His home in the enchanting Putnam Historical district spoke volumes about his character; David was devoted to restoring the beauty of his 1825 historic house to its original splendor.

He cherished his family deeply. David is survived by his loving mother, Cheryl (Easter) Robison; father, James Blair; stepfather, Daniel Robison; sister, Jennifer Blair; stepsister, Sheridan Garbrandt; and cherished nephews, Brody Kalinen and Hunter Mowery. His friendships stretched far and wide, a testament to the warmth he radiated throughout his life.

David's journey through life was brightened by the love of his late husband of twenty years, Daniel Darwish, and their beloved fox terrier, Margie, whose companionship brought immeasurable joy and comfort to his days.

As we gather to celebrate the life of David Blair, we remember a man whose heart mirrored the vivid colors he so passionately designed. A memorial service will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio, on October 25, 2025, where friends and family will come together from 1pm to 2p in an hour of visitation. A memorial service will begin at 2pm where the event can also be viewed via livestream.

A donation can be made in David's honor to the Heisey Glass Museum at 169 W Church St. Newark, Ohio 43055.
