Betty Sue Langdon, age 71, passed away at home on February 1, 2026. She was born on August 23, 1954 in Braxton, West Virginia to the late Barrett Leonard and Vivian Glendaline (Mick) Carpenter. On December 25, 1974, she married the love of her life Harley Langdon, who survives.
Betty was a woman of heart, someone who always put others before herself. Mom was a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, including those who only knew her for a short time but were touched by her along the way.
She was funny in that rare way that could make you laugh and cry almost at the same time. If you didn't find her at home or at work, you could probably find her at the bingo hall, one of her favorite places to be outside of home.
Mom had a way of making people feel welcome, and she was loved by so many, including those lucky enough to simply cross her path in life.
She was a devoted wife to Harley, and the love they shared was something she openly showed and a love that left a lasting impression on everyone who witnessed it.
The family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Shriver's Hospice nurses and staff who cared for Mom with such compassion and dedication. A very special thank you goes to her aide, Kim, who became such an important part of Mom's life. Mom truly lit up when Kim came, she not only helped take care of her but became family. All of them did so much not only for Mom, but for us as well, and their kindness will never be forgotten.
Mom leaves behind memories filled with laughter, love, and a presence that will be deeply missed.
Along with her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Tricia (Scott) Williams, Staci Bailey, Michael (Kendra) Langdon, Peggy Langdon; Grandkids, Seth (Jocelyn) Jackson, Nick Wilden, Josh (Riley) Jackson, Elizabeth Jackson, Tayler Jackson, Breyanna (Markus) Wilkes, Paige Bailey, Timothy Bailey, Savannah Langdon, Colton Langdon, Brody Langdon, Max Preston, and Emma Preston and several great-grandchildren as well as sister, Joy Boley.
She is preceded in death by brother, Burt Carpenter and Dave Carpenter.
A cremation will take place with the Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
