Bernard "Bernie" Bookless of Conesville, passed away on June 25, 2026 at Roscoe Gardens. He was born on July 24, 1947 in Coshocton to the late George and Betty (Powelson) Bookless. On July 21, 1967, he married Linda L. Vance, who survives. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at AEP until his retirement building a skill where he could fix just about anything. His talent for tinkering stayed with him throughout his life, and even in his final days, he could be found fiddling with things in the nursing home. Golf held a special place in his heart and he especially enjoyed the friendships that came with it. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him his greatest joy and countless cherished memories.
Bernie is survived by his children, Kevin (Carolee) Bookless, Kelly (Troy) Fender and Kurt (Shelia) Bookless; grandchildren, Brooke (Derek) Jimenez, Talon (Hannah) Bookless, Sydney Fender, Whitney (Mac) Schoenman, Caitlyn (Rann) Zimmer, Brody (Kiana) Bookless, Emily (Logan) Rasor and Braden Bookless; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, George (Janet) Bookless, Danny (Christy) Bookless and Cindy (Dave) Bachman and close family friend, Stephanie Howell.
He is preceded in death by his son, Kyle Jay Bookless.
The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory are taking care of the family.
