Joseph "Joey" Williard

May 9, 1981 — March 4, 2024

With heavy hearts, we mourn the unexpected passing of Joseph Scott-Davis Williard, a cherished son, little brother of three older sisters, devoted dad, proud granddad, and beloved friend. His departure on March 4th at the age of 42 has left a profound void in the lives of all who held him dear.

In remembrance, we honor his dearest Aunt Shawn, grandfather, great-grandparents, and his best friend Justin, who preceded him in death. Joey is survived by his loving parents, Danna (affectionately known as "mum") and Jim (aka “old man”), his devoted sisters Andrea, Gretchen, and Jessie, his adoring sons Shawn, Dillon, and Ethan, along with his precious grandbabies Ruby and Reed. Joey's legacy is further cherished by his beloved dog, Mia, who was not just a pet but also a loyal companion and source of comfort throughout his life. Above all, his bond with his cousin, Patrick, was unbreakable, brimming with cherished memories that will endure forever.

Joey's diverse skills as a Maintenance Supervisor earned him the title of "jack of all trades," a testament to his dedication and versatility. His passion for golf was evident to all who knew him, as he reveled in the challenges and camaraderie found on the green. His unwavering loyalty to his favorite sports teams, the New England Patriots and the Michigan Wolverines, reflected his enduring spirit and deep-seated passion.

Joey's warmth extended beyond the golf course, as evidenced by his famous bear hugs—those tight, all-encompassing embraces that lifted you off your feet and radiated his love and affection. He was “hella” funny, possessing a humor that was truly unique, often punctuating conversations with his trademark phrase "you know." His laughter was contagious, ensuring that happiness flourished in his presence.

Among those who will deeply feel his absence are his cherished brothers-in-law, whom he often called “BIL’s”, who shared many special moments and bonds with Joey. Their loss adds to the profound grief felt by all who knew and loved him. In addition to those mentioned, Joey will be deeply missed by his Gram J, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Though he may be gone, his legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
