Stephen "Steve" Blaine Wiseman

February 14, 1938 ~ April 18, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Stephen “Steve” Blaine Wiseman, 79, of Coshocton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born in Crooksville, Ohio to the late Emmett A. and Bernice E. (Stephenson) Wiseman. Emmett and his brothers were the owners of Wiseman Dairy.

Steve was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Marines.  He was a member and past officer for the AMVETS.  He retired from Columbus Southern Power/ American Electric Power after 35 years.  He started as a meter reader in Columbus and then transferred to the Conesville Power Plant in the Maintenance Department and became the maintenance superintendent of unit 4 until his retirement.  He was very proud that he had perfect attendance during his employment.

Before his health failed he enjoyed golf and love all of his buddies “golf buddies”.  His highlights were their southern golf trips and acing the 210 yard hole #2 at Hickory Flat Greens.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tracey (Gowins) Wiseman whom he married December 31, 1983; children Chris (Jen) Swingle of Waterville, Ohio, Gina (Ann Carter) Wiseman of Zanesville, Kevin Wiseman of Zanesville, and Jessica Stipes Orecchio of New Concord; sister Melanie Sue Mast of Nashport; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Mindy Gowins of Coshocton; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews Dawn Tonneman, Bryce Wiseman, Cody Gowins, and Caitlin Gowins.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Darryl L. Wiseman Sr.; brother-in-law Ralph E. “Gene” Mast; and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Per his request a cremation will take place and there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or Clary Gardens.
