Edith I (Stahl) Griffith

Edith I. Griffith, 86, of West Lafayette, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 7, 2018 at the Truman House Hospice in New Philadelphia.

Edith was born in Adams Township, Coshocton County on April 27, 1932 to the late John and Sarah (Zimmerman) Stahl. 

She was a member of Orange United Methodist Church.  Edith graduated salutatorian in 1950 from West Lafayette High School.  Edith was the happiest when with family, gardening, and baking cookies!  She loved embroidering and watching Lebron James games.

She is survived by her two children Carl (Lois) Griffith of Port Washington and Janet (Daniel) Hahn of West Lafayette; grandchildren Matthew (Suzanne) Hahn of IN, Travis (Myndee) Hahn of Fresno, Hayley (Nathanael) Armstrong of West Lafayette and Hillary Harris of Coshocton; great grandchildren Aaron, Braedyn, Wyatt and Nataley Armstrong all of West Lafayette, Kiley and Taylor Hahn of Fresno, Benjamin Hahn of IN, Keondre Griffith, Rashaun and Kayanna Harris all of Coshocton; several nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard T. Griffith whom she married December 16, 1950, Richard passed away on March 3, 2014; also preceding her in death were brothers, Jacob, Chester, Harry, and Kenneth Stahl and a sister Florence (Stahl) Olinger.  Edith has three living sister-in-laws; Marjorie (Eckelberry) Griffith of Coshocton, Donna (Schlarb) Griffith of West Lafayette, and Jane (Griffith) Swinderman of Newconmerstown.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1: 00 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.
