Winifred L. Eckelberry, 90, of Coshocton passed away Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Lafayette Pointe Nursing Home in West Lafayette. She was born in Coshocton on August 26, 1925 to the late Sylvester and Clestia (Carter) Parks.
Winifred was a 1943 graduate of West Lafayette High School and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. She spent her life as a homemaker, was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school to preschoolers, member of the Girl Scouts, VFW 2040 and she enjoyed crocheting, reading, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children Lois (Larry) Michael of Coshocton, Gary (Sheryl) Eckelberry of Mentor, Bruce (Pat) Eckelberry, Dana (Dee) Eckelberry and Joyce (Leon) Fogle all of Coshocton; twelve grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Russel Eckelberry, whom she married August 18, 1945, Russel passed away January 8, 2013; siblings Myrtle, Nellie, Ruth, Betty, Dorothy, Margaret, Frank, and Leonard.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday July 25, 2016 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM and one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services for Winifred will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.
Burial will follow in Plainfield Cemetery.
