Ruth Marie Shuy

Ruth Marie Shuy, 79, of Coshocton passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center. She was born December 27, 1937 in Holmes County to the late Bessie (Butler) and Wilmer J. Shuy.  Ruth graduated from Warsaw High School Class of 1955 and attended Miami University of Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University.

She was an educator, having taught in Columbus public schools and Sacred Heart School.  She was a past administrator of Hopewell School and Hopewell Industries.  Ruth also worked in the Education Department at Roscoe Village and in the office at the YWCA and Sutton Construction.

Ruth enjoyed reading, watching TV, gardening, and her companion cat Stinky.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Williams of Coshocton; two nieces Darlene (Greg) Williard and Gloria (Ron) Good both of Coshocton; two great nieces Katie Williard and April Good; and great nephew Brian Gross all of Coshocton.

Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Leroy Williams.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Thursday September 28, 2017 from 11:00am-12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Phillip Hunt officiating.  A private burial will take place at Killbuck Cemetery at a later time.
