R Scott Shepherd

R. Scott “Scotty” Shepherd, 50, of West Lafayette lost his battle with cancer at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on Wednesday September 28, 2016.

He was born in Neptune, NJ on July 23, 1966, the son of James (Barb) Shepherd of TN and Mary (Mel) Trotter of Florida.

On July 7, 2015 he married Brenda Shepherd and created a wonderful, happy, yet short life together.  As well as his wife and children, he loved his job as a trucker as it allowed him to see many beautiful things and well as make many friends along the road.

Scotty is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; children Brandi (Josh) Gambill of West Lafayette, Christopher (Megan) Shepherd of Coshocton, Brittany (Chris) Bonn of VA, Kimberly Gallagher of Coshocton, Dakota Shepherd of Millersburg, R.J. Shepherd of Coshocton, Kayla Kobel of Coshocton, Andre Stanley and Austin Conger of West Lafayette; nine beautiful grandchildren; sisters Debbie (Jeff) Shepherd McCoy of Coshocton, Dawn Wise of FL, Jennifer Thingelstad of FL and Jami (Mike) Helmick of Coshocton; brothers David (Cotty) Shepherd of Warsaw, Mike (Salena) Shepherd of Lakeville, Joe Wise of Fl and Randy Helmick of Warsaw; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his older brother Jimmy Shepherd; grandfather MH Pollock Jr; grandmother Adelle S. Pollock; grandson Brandon Shepherd and two nephews.

Per Scotty’s wishes, a cremation will take place and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
