Anna "Maxine" Todd

September 11, 1931 ~ July 24, 2017 (age 85)

(ANNA) MAXINE TODD, 85, died Monday July 24, 2017 of natural causes.   Maxine was born September 11, 1931 in Anstead, WV.  Maxine graduated from Union Furnace High School in 1950 in a class of twenty-eight.  She married her high school sweetheart Harl A. Todd June 11, 1950 in Asbury Chapel - Nelsonville, OH.  After nearly 60 years of marriage, Harl passed away January 2, 2010 from colon cancer.  Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Nichols & Nellie Smith and a daughter Cara (Max) Miller of Spring Valley, OH.  

Maxine is survived by her children, Belva E. (George Allen) Lauvray of Coshocton, Philip A. Todd of St. Louis, MO, and son-in-law Max (Cara) Miller of Spring Valley, OH.  Maxine was the grandmother of 4:  MAJ. Todd (Alicia) Lauvray WHITE SAND MISSILE RANGE White Sands, NM, Tara (Stephen) Coyne North Olmsted, OH, Serena (Clifford) Grewell Coshocton, OH, and Nicholas (Cassandra) Lauvray Pataskala, OH.  Maxine was the great-grandmother of 4 beautiful girls: Adrianne 15, Brigid 10, Alexis 6, & Annabelle 4 and 6 handsome boys: Lucas 16, Cole 15, Paul 14, Levi 14, Colin 14, & C.J. 12, one brother, Roy Nichols of Camarillo, CA. two sister-in-laws: Louise Todd of Zanesville, OH and Ieda Cullison of Frostproof, FL, a niece Cheryl Cullison Todd, and nephews Bob Todd, Bill Todd, John Todd, Mark Todd, & Jody Nichols.  Maxine is also survived by several ½ brothers and sisters residing in West Virginia. 

Maxine worked in Alexandria, VA for the US Army Corp of Engineers from 1952 – 1954 during the Korean War and before retiring with Harl, Maxine worked at the local Baskin Robbins Store in Coshocton, OH. 

Maxine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, TOPS, and the Rainbow Red Hatters.  Maxine’s hobbies were tatting, quilting, crocheting, & playing Mah Jong.  She very much enjoyed motorcycle riding & traveling.  Harl and Maxine were members of the Coshocton Gingham & Swing’em square dance club for 20 years.  They were life long church goers attending Prairie Chapel United Methodist, Grace United Methodist, & Coshocton Church of the Nazarene, while in Ohio and First Baptist, & First United Methodist churches when in Frostproof, FL being active in many of the different classes & groups within each of them. 

Maxine & Harl were married 59 years and enjoyed 24 years of retirement together.  Much of their retirement they lived in a motor home traveling over the entire USA, Canada, and much of Mexico along with taking several cruises to Europe, through the Panama Canal, to Hawaii, and around the Caribbean.  In 2000 they settled permanently into a park model in Rainbow Resort located in Frostproof, Fl.

After her husband Harl’s 2010 death Maxine enjoyed spending her winter months for four years in Rainbow Resort in Frostproof, FL and was extremely grateful for all the help, support, and devotion of all her kind friends and neighbors in the park. 

The spring of 2014 Maxine came home to live with her daughter Belva permanently in Coshocton and later that year moved into assisted living in Dublin, OH to be as close as possible to all three of her children.

Her family wishes to extend a very special thanks to the entire staff of Brookedale Muirfield & Hospice of Dublin for all their kind care and attention with their mother over these last three years.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, Ohio on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00AM with Pastor Brandon Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
